COVID 19 Infection Prevention and Control Measures -

You may be asked to comply with some or all of the measures below according to the pandemic circumstances at the time.

Before you attend

All patients before attending must undergo telephone triage. This means speaking to a member of staff so that they can ask you a number of questions to assess your suitability for treatment. If you call someone will go through the triage with you. If you book online or by email someone will call you to triage you.

Triage means Checking:

  • You are not in a high risk category (you have not had a shielding letter)

  • You or anyone you live with has any symptoms of coronavirus infection. (new persistent cough, temperature over 38 degrees or loss of taste or smell)

  • You have not had contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID 19 in the last 14 days

If you answer NO to all of the above you can make an appointment.

When you arrive

We have reduced the number of patients we can see in a day. Your appointment time remains the same. However, we have allowed more time between patients so that we can clean down and doff our PPE. Patient appointment times have been staggered to reduce the number of patients in the building at any one time.

Patients are asked to turn up at their appointment time. not early and not late. If you are early you should wait outside until you are admitted. If you are going to be late you should call the clinic to inform your osteopath.

Once you are in the building you will need to wash or sanitise your and immediately. remember to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds.

A member of staff may ask you additional questions and take your temperature with an infrared thermometer.

PPE

You will be asked to don a facemask that we will supply for you. Your osteopath will also be wearing a face mask and will also don a single use apron and gloves in order to carry out treatment.

You should remove the mask by its straps and dispose of it in a suitable bin.

You should wash your hands before you leave the building.
